Opportunity to guide and mentor incredible clients on their Destiny One implementation
Destiny Solutions is a Toronto-based B2B software company with an industry-leading approach to content marketing. We are looking for Implementation Consultants who will lead and guide our clients through the planning, design, build & implementation of Destiny One software.
We work with leading colleges and universities across North America and use top-notch content as a means of connecting with the community and providing knowledge to help propel the industry forward. The candidate we are looking for shares our passion for innovative, efficient business solutions as well as our passion for the higher education industry.
#1) The Role
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to guide and mentor clients with their implementation of Destiny One. The Professional Services team of consultants oversees the overall design, configuration and delivery of Destiny One to meet customer requirements. They also provide oversight and direction to project team members in the execution of project activities in all stages of the implementation lifecycle.
Our Implementation Consultants have a passion for translating client requirements into a solution, interacting with business and technical team members, providing subject matter expertise and best practices guidance to client during the implementation, and have an eye for detail while at the same time seeing the ‘big picture’. The role of the Implementation Consultant is tricky, complex and very influential. How well this role is played out is one the key contributors to a successful implementation. Our team loves to share ideas and challenge each other to provide the best possible solution for our clients.
#2) The Market
The higher education market is looking at huge growth, and so are we. Schools are looking to revolutionize how they do business and how they engage with students and our software is a game changer. Destiny Solutions already has an impressive roster of clients and a very highly-regarded product. Our clients are amongst the top universities and are arguably the most forward thinking in the industry.
#3) The Knowledge
We believe that in order to serve higher education, we need to be specialists in it. Destiny Solutions staff are amongst the foremost experts in non-traditional higher education and take an active role in educating the industry through our robust content library and our digital publication The EvoLLLution. Because of our intimate knowledge of the industry, we are able to craft a product that offers best practices and speaks specifically to the unique needs of higher education leaders.
- A. Lead and guide implementation engagements
The successful candidate will lead Destiny One implementation engagements by understanding our clients’ complex business needs and mentoring and guiding them through the implementation project. They will lead customer workshops, stimulate customer engagement, document client requirements, and work with the Professional Services Program Manager to determine how the system can be designed and configured to meet them. The goal of the Implementation Consultant is to address as many requirements and gaps as possible via “configuration” rather than “customization”. If customizations are required, the Implementation Consultant will develop detailed business user requirements and specifications.
They will identify necessary changes to existing business processes as a result of decisions that the client may make over the course of the implementation. It is essential for the Implementation Consultant to explain what business processes the proposed solution expects and encourages and drives change within the customer’s organization to suit it.
The Implementation Consultant also delivers on-site or remote train-the-trainer training for clients as well as post Go Live Operational Health Checks.
- B. Project Management
Once the project scope has been finalized, the Implementation Consultant will present the Project Delivery Framework to the client and guide and empower them to assume responsibility for as many of the project management related tasks as possible. They are responsible for managing and resolving risks and issues, escalating where appropriate. The Implementation Consultant will also act as the gatekeeper of the change request process, reviewing requested system changes and developing detailed specifications for implementation. They will then communicate system changes, costs and schedule impact to all levels of both the client and internal organizations. They will also track client and internal deliverables to completion.
For internal reporting purposes, the Implementation Consultant produces weekly status reports, project metrics, time tracking, coordination with Destiny development, QA and technical writing team members and participate in monthly Steering Committee meetings.
- C. Contribute to Internal Implementation Initiatives
We are always looking at ways to improve the way we plan and deliver our implementation projects. As a member of the Professional Services team, you will play a key role in reviewing, updating and improving our internal documentation, client-facing materials and project delivery methods.
