The candidate we’re looking for has sound business acumen, strong technical aptitude, and natural sales instincts. They will work with our team of SDRs and sales engineers to meet and exceed sales targets and contribute to overall company growth. We believe that in order to serve higher education, we need to be specialists in it. Destiny Solutions staff are amongst the foremost experts in non-traditional higher education and take an active role in educating the industry through our robust content library and our digital publication The EvoLLLution. Because of our intimate knowledge of the industry, we are able to craft a product that offers best practices and speaks specifically to the unique needs of higher education leaders.
Role and Responsibilities
This position is appropriate for a seasoned technology sales professional, who is strongly motivated to meet and exceed sales targets. The candidate will enjoy working independently, as well as collaborating with solution specialists, and the rest of the sales team. The main functions of the role are below.
- Sell the Destiny Solutions suite of software
- Establish strong client relationships
- 2+ years of sales experience in the higher education or public sector software solution industries with a demonstrated ability to engage and maintain relationships with senior executives at various levels within the administrative and academic arms of higher education schools
- 3+ years of experience with consultative enterprise solution sales and relationship management
- Experience managing and closing complex sales-cycles and a proven understanding of all stakeholders and required resources
- History of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- University degree required
- Knowledge of the non-traditional higher education market is a significant asset
- Strong technical acumen
- Ability to build strong relationships with senior executives and earn their trust
- Highly developed client service and client satisfaction focus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills, including an ability to demonstrate software to prospects and current clients
- Familiarity with CRM pipeline management tools and techniques, ideally Salesforce.com
- Demonstrated work ethic and drive to assume high levels of responsibility and accountability with an ability to work remotely
You will be selling the entire suite of Destiny Solutions software to globally recognized colleges and universities. You will take part in many aspects of the sales cycle from business development onward, and will participate actively in demoing our software to prospects and in responding to RFP and RFI requests from target accounts.
You will act as a point for contact for strategic accounts and nurture deep client relationships. You will build trust with the client at every stage and ensure that Destiny One aligns with the client’s objectives and operations. You will need to be an industry expert and work consultatively with prospects at different levels within the institution to deliver the best solution for their needs. Maintaining these relationships will require face-to-face interactions and so this role is about 25 to 40 percent travel.
